Kitchen Helpers support food preparation and service operations in Department of National Defence dining facilities, kitchens, and food service areas across Canada. Working as part of a dedicated food services team, you will assist in maintaining clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environments while supporting the preparation and service of meals to military personnel and civilian employees.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include preparing ingredients, maintaining food safety standards, cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas, receiving and storing food supplies, and assisting with meal service. You will work collaboratively with cooks, food service supervisors, and other kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared on time and meet quality standards. This is a physically active role that requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation.
You will work in a structured military environment where teamwork, punctuality, and following established procedures are essential. Kitchen work typically follows regular shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours depending on facility needs and operational requirements.

Training
