As a Residential Water System Technician with the Department of National Defence, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of water systems in residential facilities across Canada. You will work on a variety of systems including water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures, and related equipment to ensure safe, clean water delivery and proper waste management in DND housing and barracks. Your technical expertise will directly support the health, safety, and operational readiness of military personnel and their families living in Defence facilities.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include diagnosing water system problems, performing preventive maintenance, replacing worn components, testing water quality, and documenting all work completed. You may also respond to emergency calls for burst pipes, leaks, or system failures that require immediate attention. You will work both independently and as part of a maintenance team, collaborating with other trades professionals to complete larger projects. Training
